International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Releases Rules And Strategies For Cyber Security in South Africa

Okoro the senior Vice President and General Counsel of the World Bank is also aware about the absolute need of the safety measures regarding the cyber security.

In South Africa, on Tuesday in Durban a nationalized guide which explains the rules and strategies for cyber security has been released by the Telecom world as a sideline to the International Telecommunication Union. ITU, private sector, academia, UN, civil society were the organizations involved in the implementation of the guide that is suppose to help prevent cyber crimes as well as encourage in country’s development. 

ITU Secretary-General Zhao Houlin reported that this is a very important guide that will be helpful for International Telecommunication Union to fulfill the commitment that it has abiding for so long of supporting its affiliates and allowing them to use the information and communication technologies for their use as well as the economic and social development. He also added that while more and more people are coming online and joining the ICT it is very important to make the space safe for them by implementing cyber security strategies. 

Policy makers can refer to the guide to implement better development strategies in their country according to their own requirement.
